About Us
The Bristol Suspensions are a mixed a cappella group from the University of Bristol, having won the 2021 ICCA UK finals, the group are known for their stunning vocals, slick choreography, and that signature shade of maroon.
Now in their tenth year, formed in October 2014, The Suspensions has cemented its status as an established group in the UK A Cappella scene with its stunning set of accolades over the past decade. These include being named International Champions in the IIAF 2019 and winning the Voice Festival in 2016. Amongst their highest achievements is their CARA Award-Winning album "Red Hot" which demonstrates the group's eclectic genre-range... not to mention the classic "spice" that the group never fails to bring. Last year at the ICCA’s, not only did The Suspensions qualify for the wildcard round, but they achieved two special mentions for outstanding soloists. What’s more, the group are extremely proud to have achieved a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe for two consecutive years, most recently taking their jukebox comedy musical inspired by ‘Friends’ to the festival in 2023. The group have performed in Edinburgh and beyond, taking their electric stage presence to venues in London, Wales and even on a tour of the East-Coast of America. When at home and not rehearsing, they can be found busking, bringing their infectious high-energy and stunning sound to the streets of Bristol. If you find yourself in the South-West, why not go and check them out for yourselves?
With fresh choreography, vocalists, and a brand-new look to go with, this is a new generation of The Suspensions that you don’t want to miss. However, more than anything the group are known for bringing passion, excitement and electricity to all of their performances, and this year is no different.
We perform regularly at both private and public functions. Check out our videos page to see more from us, and head to our contact page if you want to find out more or enquire about booking us for an event.
